Abuse

Abuse refers to the use or treatment of something (a person, item, substance, concept, or vocabulary) that is harmful. It can be classed by the target of abuse or the type of abuse.

Types of abuse includes:

Verbal Psychological
Physical Sexual
Spiritual Hyman Rights
Drug Spousal
Elder Child

Verbal Abuse:

Occurs when one person uses words and body language to inappropriately criticize another person.

 Verbal Abuse often involves 'putdowns' and name-calling intended to make a victim feel they are not worthy of love or respect, and that they do not have ability to do anything or have a talent.

Psychological Abuse:

Occurs when one person controls information available to another person so as to manipulate that person's sense of reality: (what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.)

 Alternatively, psychological abuse may occur when one victim is forced to watch another be abused in some fashion (verbally, emotionally, physically, or sexually.)

Physical Abuse:

Occurs when one person uses physical pain or threat of physical force to intimdate another person.

 Physical abuse may involve simple slaps, pushes, kicks, or real causes in which require of hospitalization.

Sexual Abuse:

Children and adults includes any sort of unwanted sexual contact perpetrated on a victim by an abuser.

 Sexual abuse may occur if one parthner has agreed to a certain level of sexual activity and another level is forced upon her/him without prior explict consent being given.
