Shoot for Safety. Not Sorrow

Program Mission:

This program's mission is to serve as a safety professional and 24/7 resource to the general public, whenever they are in a situation where safety tips, facts, resources, and other information is available.

We Believe:

We believe that since safety isn't taking as a resource to most people, then it leaves them with nothing but bad luck. If everyone will start to "think safe" then there would be no worries about having their child kidnapped or harmed by anyone. When your talking about safety, your talking about at home, at school, in the mall or store, in your car, or at the fair. You must be aware of your surroundings and think safe.

Program Goals:

This program goals is:

  • to help parents and their child/ren be prepared for any situation (fire, break-in,etc.);
  • to help prevent future incidents including kidnappings, with safety education; and
  • to save more lives with the think safe technique.

The Problem:

We believe that the problems include:

  • Families aren't prepared for an event that involve thinking safe.
  • Families don't practice safety drills.
  • Parents don't teach their kids what to do at various occassions (break-in, stalking,etc.)
  • Parents just tell their kids to fight back and not teach them how to.
  • Parents too many times assume that their child understood what safety and fight back means.
  • Children are to afraid to tell their parents, they're worried about their safety.
  • Children are put in un-safe environments, which puts them into danger.
  • Schools are strict on students walking home or getting pick-up by a parent or guardian.

The Solutions:

We believe that solutions to this issue will include:

  • that parents should practice safety with their kids;
  • that parents should teach their kid/s what safety is and how to protect themself in any situation;
  • that parents should teach their kid the "there's a fire" technique;
  • that schools should be more strict on their walking home and student pick-up policies;
  • that teachers should have a list of students who walk , ride the bus, and who gets picked-up;
  • that teachers should be able to leave unless all students are gone home safely;
  • that parents should be careful when they are choosing environments for their child (daycare,school,etc.)

The list can go on-and-on but, the key is just to think safety everywhere you are. If you are a parent, get the message and teach your kid how to protect themself in a fire, when someone is stalking them, trying to bully them or when someone tries to break in the house or does break in the house.
